Key Work Areas

• Corporate Documents - The development and management of corporate documents is one of the functions of the Excom. The NssCorpDocsWiki is the repositiory for the ongoing efforts in that regard.

• Excom Agenda Development - The Excom is intended to be the forum for the culminating strategic and tactical discussions of those items which focus the deployment of organizational resources to best achieve the goals of the Society, and as necessary/appropriate the source of implementing authority for the decisions achieve that deployment either directly or by delegation. Each Excom member is encouraged to submit agenda items for inclusion in subsequent Excom meetings.

    1. Access to Space - The first 50 Years of Space Advocacy - The definitative guide to the organizations, companies, and individuals that have been a part of opening our access to space and those that are carrying the torch forward. How do we realize and maximize value from such a compendium?

    2. Interorganizational Alliances - How do we best succeed through cooperation? How do we foster, establish, nurture, and act as good stewards of such alliances? How do we establish and maintain the confluence of interests not just in the best of times, but even when we have serious tactical disagreements?

    3. NSS Privacy Policy NssPrivacyPolicy (Restricted Access Subwiki, Draft Currently Under Development)

    4. NSS Information Technology Infrastructure Policy NssItInfrastructure (Restricted Access Subwiki, Draft Currently Under Development)

    5. NSS Strategic Plan. Discussion of relevant issues. How do we best move forward towards our goal? What are the optons? Which option is best?

    6. Specifically, first discuss the macro economic environment that NSS must operate in. A slide concerning this issue was included in the email sent earlier, which contained a copy of the strategic issues presentation given on the Wednesday before ISDC 2006.

• Operations Committee - The operations committee is an ad hoc committee consisting of participants from the Excom Committee, other standing and ad hoc committees currently extant, and special participants that is focused on the tactical follow through of Excom decisions.
